The city of Monterey is the geographical and social center of the Monterey Peninsula. Its remarkable waterfront lies along Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.  Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row and the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium stretch along the vibrant waterfront, complete with charming older homes.
